Weekend frolics....

What a hectic weekend it has been with so many exciting things happening. First off we had the drawing of the Aussie Artist Giveaway. The lucky winners were SUSAN @ Suzie Button and RUE @ Rues Peanut Butter and Jelly Life. Congratulations girls - I hope you both enjoy your gift boxes from the Aussie Artist Giveaway. A special thank you must go to Shann of Paint Mine Pink for organising the giveaway.

Next up, for all the Aussies who follow Aussie rules Football, we had the AFL Grandfinal on Saturday. It was a brilliant game between the Geelong 'Cats' and the Hawthorn 'Hawks'. The Mighty Fighting Hawks were the victors!!

My hubby was hosting a Grandfinal corporate event over the weekend so we enjoyed a lovely break at the Crowne Plaza in Melbourne.

Melbourne turned on a beautiful spring day with temps in the mid 20's. The city was swamped with people and the atmosphere was electric. Saturday night we enjoyed a scrumptious Chinese meal with a great group of people. Mind you we didn't make it down to the restaurant until after 10pm so were still enjoying desert after midnight. It was such a superb evening for walking but my poor little legs just couldn't make it back to our accommodation so hubby dutifully hailed us a cab. Even in the early hours of Sunday morning the ecstatic football crowds still lingered along Southbank.

Sunday should have been a day of rest (had I been smart) as I could hardly function but unfortunately there were jobs to be done. When exactly did I promise Miss Aimee we would plant out her summer vegie garden?? Hhmmm...what was I thinking? So off to the nursery we went to get her seedlings and we did have a fun afternoon planting her vegies. Now I just have to keep those pesky possums away from it.

Sure they look cute...especially if you don't have them where you live but here in our bushland setting we are inundated with them. I quite like the little ringtails with those cute little curling tails but them brushy tails that thump along my roof all night drive me crazy. They leave little calling cards all over my decking and munch on my garden. They are so tame and brazen they even wander up to my studio at night when I am working. Gypsy quickly chases them back up the tree but they only go to the first branches where they are just out of her reach....cheeky little possums!!!
