# 1 - I was born on Manus Island, one of the Admiralty Islands north of New Guinea. My parents lived there for a few years while my father served there with the Australian Navy. My friends would ask me when I was little why wasn't I black to which I would reply " well of course I was but when I came to Australia I turned white". LOL
# 2 - When I was 4 I was bitten on the face by a neighbours dog and have a scar on the left side of my lip.
# 3 - Although I started my working life in the art field I decided in my 20's to study nursing. I worked as a nurse for 5 years before an accident in which I dislocated my neck finished by nursing career.......naturally I returned to what I know best - ART.
# 4 - I love animals - I mean I really, really loooove animals. And that includes everything from bugs to baboons. I can even pick up insects and lizards and spiders don't even phase me......but.....I can't warm to snakes. I try to convince myself that they are just like lizards but without legs but still the give me goose-bumps. Are they really that necessary?
# 5 - I have a fear of deep and dark water. I love swimming in the ocean but I need to know I can touch the bottom. I never go on boats and I close my eyes to go over bridges....which of course is pretty scary if I happen to be the driver!!
# 6 - My friends and family tell me I am a good cook. I enjoy cooking and I was taught by the best cook - my mum. She is an amazing cook. My daughter Aimee is interested in cooking now and often helps me but I'm afraid the Princess "doesn't do kitchens"....and you were wondering why we called her 'Princess'.
# 7 - My daughter tells everyone I am a 'hippy'. The school principle once said to me "I've heard you are a bit bohemian". Hhhhmmm.......I don't really think I am. Yes I like peace and tranquility, I also like yoga and meditation. I would prefer to make Art not WAR and I am a bit of a greeny. Ok that all sounds a bit alternative...... but I don't eat lentils or tofu!!!! Perhaps I am just a bit of an urban hippy.
