Sit long, talk much, laugh often

Yesterday it occurred to me that I never show photos from my classes and decided that I’d take my camera down to class last night. I planned on snapping a few photos throughout the evening, so I could share with you today the incredible creative talents of ‘my girls’.

Well. . . um, good intentions, but no actual photos to share because class went something like this. . .

Students arrive and there’s a lot of chitchat about and the chilly evening air,

We huddled around the heater and put the kettle on,

We yak about our individual weeks. . .

[nothing creative happening yet]

We laugh about the new slogan on the studio chalkboard - ‘Slipper wearing zone’, instigated because Mel accidentally wore her slippers to class last week. We agreed that in her haste to escape to the sanctity of class she had inadvertently stumbled upon a more acceptable dress code. . . . so we’ve all adopted it.

Raspberry bullets discovered in the class lolly bowls. . . need I say more!

Warming up but decide that a bottle of wine is preferable to tea.

[bags are unpacked and creative supplies beckon]

We chat. . .  in fact we chatted a whole lot. . .

we chat about our kids and their antics, we chat about that other species – men,

[some creativeness finally descends upon the group]

We share creative ideas, laugh, sip our wine,

swap supplies, laugh some more, top up our wine.

And in the end, there were in fact some very creative projects last night. . . special mention to Jane who managed to start and finish a Sew Mama owl softie. Jane is quite adamant that the class beverage has improved her sewing skills.

Soooo, no photos, but a whole lot of what I like to call

‘Girlfriend Therapy’.
