Fly free my little chickadees…
Wednesday was the final class for my students participating in my online course ‘Embracing the Passion’. It's now time for my little chickadees to take off on their own. I've given them the tools to embrace their passions and live life creatively… the rest is now up to them. There was some reluctance for a few to spread their wings and take off on their own, but I am confident that they are now engaging fully with their everyday; relying on their senses, emotions and passion for stimulus. After a month of daily chats, tutorials and emails it is only natural that it felt safe within the group and a little scary to proceed alone. Even I feel a little empty now… hhmmm, is this what it feels like when the kids leave home?
Creative people are often alone with their visions and ideas. Creativity can't exist in a vacuum. This is what I told my students ~ when you feel alone on your path, remember that you can share your journey. Support from others is key for brainstorming, inspiration, encouragement and accountability. Share your ideas with positive people. Connecting with other creative souls jump starts your creativity faster than anything else AND blog land is the perfect place to do this. So much inspiration and support is available from others who actually get you and who live the creative life too.
I found the new role of teaching online exhilarating. I was concerned beforehand that it wouldn’t be personal enough without face-to-face, but for those that wanted or needed some one-on-one it was easily accessed via email and even some phone calls. I’ll change a few things around before I run the course again, but so far all the feedback has been very positive. So what’s next? More courses of course!! I’ll be running some specific Christmas painting project courses in the lead up to Christmas as well as the ‘Embracing the Passion’ course again.
My week has ended beautifully with a ‘just because’ gift from my lovely friend Anna of Anna Rosa Designs. Anna and I were friends long before I dragged her into blog land with me. I remember she was a little reluctant at first to try blogging but she quickly became ensconced in the blogger arts community, once we set her up with her own blog.
Anyhoo, yesterday I received this lovely gift with the vintage style wrapping. I liked the wrapping paper so much I was reluctant to rip it off, but I did… eventually.
Inside was a beautiful set of lavender votives. Anna knows well my passion for candles. I have them along with essential oils burning in my studio everyday. All creative inspiration comes via our five senses; they’re the channels through which we experience the world. I particularly like to have beautiful scents filling my work space. So thank you Anna for your generosity and being such a sweet friend.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. Hugs ~ Kerryanne
