It's amazing how a solitude early morning walk on the beach can restore your equilibrium. I feel quite rejuvenated this morning.
There's no doubt that life is a balancing act and sometimes busy days get you all out of kilter. Unlike most people who dislike Mondays, I actually enjoy the fresh start that Monday brings with it. With everyone off doing their respective things, it means Gypsy the studio buddy and I have the house/studio to ourselves and the peace and tranquility is restored. Monday mornings I like to tidy the studio and prepare for the busy week ahead - that means a 'To Do' list .
I'm a big list girl... honestly, I have lists for everything... uumm, yes I know that is quite anal and tragic. (LOL) It's not that I am forgetful, I just like lists. I guess I am very strategic in the way I work and I take great pleasure in ticking off completed tasks from my list.
Sooooooo... why am I telling you this? Well, this week is a particularly busy week in which I want to achieve allot. I've had many projects on the go for sometime but all are now nearing completion and the LIST is bulging with tasks. Now that could either be daunting and overwhelming OR (in a strange twist), very exhilarating as I tick off all the finished projects.
Before I share my new designs, I thought I had better play catch up and show you the finished OPAM projects. This cushion was the teaser from last week. The lovely Linda from I See The Bridge guessed right!
The embroidered cushion is my own design and incorporates the same green I have painted the feature wall in my bedroom.
I also managed a couple of Tilda, Goodnight Angels.
The design is by Tone Finnanger, a Norwegian artist and designer. I have all of her books and have made many of her lovely designs over the years.... but rarely for myself!!
I think these two pyjama clad girls with nightcaps are gorgeous. One's in a nightgown and has her pillow and the other has matching PJ's - I decided not to put angel wings on them this time.
In other news this past week, I have had my friend Marisa up for a visit from Melbourne so have been busy showing her around our little part of the world.
This was about as close as she was getting to our lovely camels on Lighthouse beach. We had a wonderful time exploring the coast, dining out and crafting in the studio. I'm definitely back to the diet this week!!!
I'll leave you with another little teaser....
...this one incorporates vintage advertising and old lace with a modern twist?
