Inspiration Sunday!!

Following on from my creative outing last week, the girls (Anne, Vikki, Joy and I), ventured out to the Melbourne Showgrounds today for the Stitches and Craft Show.

We'd been there less than 5 minutes when we ran into the excitable Jodie from Vintage Ric Rac. What a crack up Jodie is. She entertained us with hysterically funny stories and observations from the S&C show which I certainly can't re-tell here...[giggle].

This is us from left: Jodie, me and Vikki from Sew Useful Designs. Talk about having a bad hair day....eeek. You'll notice my once long, curly and unruly hair is now much shorter and yes... very straight.
And this is THAT dress that Jodie made entirely from selvedges. Photos don't do it justice - it was amazing to see up close.

After our visit with Jodie we had to refuel with a latte and a Twix bar before continuing on up and down the isles, constantly being inspired by the amazing artisans and their creative produce. Of course we were compelled to buy a few things while there too - as if you couldn't!!

Then we stopped in for a chat with the delightful Karlene Atkins of Katkin Designs where Vikki was able to pick up some business tips from someone she greatly admires. From L to R this is: Anne, Vikki and Karlene.

I was lucky enough to catch up with Sonya from Giggle Buttons too. Doesn't her site look fabulous?

Even though Sonya was manning her stall on her own and very busy, she stopped everything to have a chat with us. We compare our health issues (or commiserate with each other), I bought a great project and Giggle buttons, then it was big hugs and on our way again. Unfortunately I didn't get a photo of us - this could have something to do with the amount of purchases balancing on my lap by this stage. Trust me, Sonya was looking gorgeous and I'm sure my hair had improved by then.

Three and a half hours later we were on our way home again... tired and weary. Well that was me, I can only imagine how Anne and Vikki felt after pushing me around in the wheelchair all morning. Thanks girls - you made my day and I appreciate it.

I just wanted to flop into bed when I got home but look who had made herself comfortable on my bed in my absence.....

It's a dogs life!!!

My mind is full to over flowing with project ideas after my visit to the Stitches and Craft show. The opportunity to catch up with friends and check out all the new products and ohhhhh, those amazing fabrics mmmmmm - it was very inspiring. I expect I will be a bit manic this week trying to do all the new projects I purchased. I've already decided this will be a week for sewing after a couple of solid weeks working on paintings - I'll show some photos of those later this week.
