How hot is too hot???

It's HOT - real hot!!

So how hot is too hot?

Hhmm, being a cold blooded girl who needs and likes a bit of heat to warm her body, I don't mind summer temperatures in the low 30's. Melbourne this week is experiencing a heat wave with temperatures over 40 degrees (104 +) all week. That's hot!! Too hot to enjoy the outdoors, too hot for my thirsty garden AND apparently too hot for school. Yes... that's right. The Princess has received a letter today to say her first day of school on Friday has been cancelled due to the heat wave.

Just when I thought I was getting the kids back to school. Oh well, I will just have to wait until next week for my Sanity week.

Well, at least the postal delivery I received yesterday will keep my mind off the heat. Two special parcels - how lucky am I?

The first parcel was from my beautiful bloggy buddy Linda, of Lilly Cottage in Queensland. Pop on over to visit Linda at Kiss Noises or Lilly Cottage to hear all about her wonderful Australia Day weekend spent with our mutual blogging friend Kris, from Tag Along Teddies.

Woo hoo.... lots of pink pretties in my parcel.

Linda has sent me a care package filled with lots of creative activities to keep me busy. Ssshh... there was also a stash of sweet things too but I haven't told the kids or Gypsy. Is it wrong to hold out on them? Hhmm - no, I think not. After all, I will need something to munch on while enjoying creative play next week when my munchkins are back at school. Thanks so much Linda for your kindness. Made all the more special when I know your health is poor too.

A second much awaited parcel arrived too. It was my magazines I had ordered from the US several weeks ago... clearly they took the scenic route to get here. LOL

Let me tell you, they were well worth the wait. The magazines 'Where Women Create' and 'Artful Blogging', published by Stampington & Company are incredibly inspiring. I've already flicked through both mags several times but look forward to sitting in a quiet place to savour and enjoy each and every page. Probably the perfect way to spend such a hot afternoon. If you are in Melbourne then I hope you are managing to keep cool.

Hugs,

Kerryanne
