My Tuesday evening class is such a delight to teach. This group of ladies are all wonderful and I treasure their friendship. Our Tuesday evenings are filled with fun and laughter as we chat about our lives, our families and our troubles. Not all classes or workshops can have this perfect mix so I truly appreciate how blessed I am to have this group. Our friendships have taken us outside the classroom as we explore and share our crafting addictions.
Yesterday my classroom underwent a makeover for a very important event...
a surprise party!!
The recipient was a dear friend and my student Marisa who is turning 40 next week. The rest of the group have been planning this for several months and Marisa truly had no idea until she walked through the door last night for what should have been a normal painting class night.
The classroom looked magical filled with pink and white balloons, twinkling fairy lights and lots of white candles.

That's the birthday girl Marisa (below) with her glittery '40' tiara, cutting the birthday cake. You may wonder about the eye mask....well, it was part of a beautiful gift that Vikki make her and it was at the end of the night after a few champagnes!!
We also exchanged Kris Kringle gifts, ate heaps of yummy foods and then the girlssurprised me
with a care package for my post surgery recovery period. I was so touched by their thoughtfulness. The box was filled to overflowing with all the necessities; chocolates, lollies, puzzle books, a novel, crafting projects, drink containers some beautiful hand made goodies and a whistle. I think I am going to love that whistle [giggle]. Of course I had to give it a test run last night and I too was wearing my very own 'Miss Vikki' eye mask. I'm sure Marisa and I looked like a pair of whacker's with our eye masks but we had fun and that is what it is all about. The rest of the photos are a bit blurry so I have spared you the vision!!
Only 2 days to go until my surgery so I am running about like a crazy woman. I picked up the wheelchair today so have had a hilarious time with 'The Princess' this morning trying to navigate it around the house. Who'd have thought steering a wheelchair would be that hard?? Give me a few weeks and I will be a pro.
I'll pop back in before I have my blogging break with some Christmas photos and my latest painting projects.
Hugs,
Kerryanne
