Yesterday I hosted a 'Ladies Day Out' workshop at the Woodberry Designs Studio.
The lovely ladies who attended, braved Melbourne's horrendous weather conditions to fill an afternoon with painting fun and relaxation. Janine who visited for the first time at last months Friday night pizza workshop, revisited to face the painting challenge. She did really well and went home with her first project 90% finished. She even picked up a new friend with my studio buddy Gypsy taking a real liking to her. Everyone had a most enjoyable day despite the bitterly cold weather outside.
With gale force winds and horizontal rain bearing down on us we couldn't hold the afternoon tea outside on the deck, so settled on tea served in the dining room. We feasted on homemade scones with jam and cream, a selection of apple, berry and chocolate danishes, fresh strawberries and assorted sandwiches...mmmmmm.
t was a quieter and more relaxed group that waddled back out to the studio for the remaining hour of the workshop. I think I can safely say everyone went home with a full belly and a happy smile on their face....not to mention all the painting that got completed!
I look forward to holding more of these workshops in 2009 - they are the ultimate way to spend a relaxing craft afternoon. Don't forget I am having some guest teachers also in the New Year. Kris Meares from Tag Along Teddies will be teaching a weekend workshop early in the year. Although we have yet to set a date or show the bear project I already have bookings - numbers will be limited for this workshop so if you are interested in knowing more about it, please let me know.
Back to the sewing machine now for a change of pace.
Hugs,
Kerryanne
