By far my most treasured gift if that from my baby girl, Aimee. My children know that I prefer home made gifts and cards from them and I encourage them to make me something for special occasions. Of course I often get 'just because' gifts too, especially from Miss Aimee.
So this birthday was no disappointment in the homemade gift area. First there was the card ~ beautifully decorated on the outside (not to mention the envelope) and the words inside were so cute. Here is an excerpt:
MUM is an artist, school driver, chef, nurse, helper, computer smart, buying groceries, present giver, carpenter, gives kisses and hugs and she is kind, polite, nice, welcoming, sociable and a friendly person.
I LOVE it....about the only thing missing there is 'plays well with others' but I suppose the welcoming and sociable cover that. [giggle]
Now the gift is an exceptional gift and I can't wait to use it....
See that little booklet - that's 12 vouchers right there.
Oh yeah baby, I've got me 12 stupendous freebies to be cashed in. So what delights await me you ask. Would you believe 2 vouchers each of:
Breakfast in bed
Be your slave for a day
Hugs & Kisses
1 x foot massage
1 x head massage
1x body massage
I can't wait to start using them and did you notice the use by date - 1/1/09. Okay, so I am going to be really pampered in the next 2 months. And after the exhausting weekend I have just had maybe I can cash one in tonight....hhmmm...perhaps the foot massage.
So speaking of the weekend, it was the Melbourne SFDAV Painting Fair yesterday. As I am on the SFDAV committee it was a busy day Saturday for all us setting up for the event. Poor hubby was dragged in to lend some muscle seeing as I am on the injured list. It all went to plan and we had a very successful day yesterday.
This is just one of the 3 tables I had in my exhibit.
This photo was taken as I was setting up and that was the last photo taken. We were just so busy all day, especially when the doors first opened. I dragged along Princess Jess to help out for the day - and I do mean dragged along. She had offered to help earlier but she wasn't impressed when I woke her at 6:30am. When we got to the venue everyone was rushing around and in high spirits...then in walked the cranky 'Princess', both hands wrapped around a coffee, muttering incomprehensibly (thankfully) under her breath. We left her to drink her coffee while we set up and by the time the doors opened she was human again and very personable.
The day was exhausting for everyone and of course the committee had to pack up all the tables and clean up at the end of the day. Hubby once again came back to help us pack up so it was a weary foursome that returned home last night. Mark unpacked both cars and 'dumped' most of it in the classroom......
...and this is what awaits me today!!
AARRGGHHH.....
So until next time, I will be in the studio cleaning up and putting away.
Hugs,
Kerryanne
