Rose scented pretties

Gosh, another week has flown by and yet again I feel I haven't achieved all that I wanted to do. This week a lot of my time was taken up with the preparations for the upcoming SFDAV Painting Fair.

At least when I was in the studio I was productive. I've had a bit of a tidy up and have got my studio back to its usual set up. Having just worked on Christmas for a few months I had changed the decor around a bit to put me in the right frame of mind. Have you ever noticed how much your sense of smell affects your mood? To get me enthused about Christmas I was burning spicy Christmas candles and oils and the basket of cinnamon ornaments I made just permeated the whole studio.

With Christmas behind me the studio is now engulfed in the pretty floral scents of roses, lavender and geranium. I particularly love the aromatherapy and scented candles from Dusk. I also burn oils in both the studio and the classroom. They are so atmospheric and can change your mood from calming to rejuvenated or invigorating.

With my workspace all pretty and pink again and the fragrance of scented oils evoking my senses I set to work on a series of new projects - cupcake decor. Yes I know.....the whole cupcake thing is starting to look like an obsession.

This one is a wall hanging that will also appear as a magazine project. I'm currently working on napkin and place card holders and several paintings.

Just so you don't think all I do is cupcakes, I spent an evening this week drafting up preliminary drawings for a new line of canvases - these are more fashion and vintage inspired. Whenever I have a new direction to move in I get all inspired and can't wait to get started. In between these jobs I have been adding to the collection of 'Art for Sale'. I really must do something about photographing and listing these items on my website. I think Hubby is scared they are multiplying and taking over the house. LOL

Hope you have a great weekend.

Hugs,

Kerryanne
