Come on in..... the studio is a buzz with activity at present. I am super busy and wearing many hats this week - chief photogtapher & stylist, drafting pattern sheets, writing instructions, putting finishing touches to projects....oh and head nurse. Yep, both girls are home with a 'winter bug' so trying to juggle just the right amount of sympathy and TLC with getting the Christmas Collection to completion.
Do you want to see a few projects that are in the completed box?
Shhh.....come in close...... Rudolph is my all time favorite Christmas character and features prominently in many of my designs. Here he is in a quick and easy 'Stitch & Paint' project. Rudolph and the holly sprigs are painted, while the fir needles are stitched and the berries are pretty glass beads. This design could be adapted to suit an apron, bag, linen etc.
I've shown the design here on a tea stained calico bag. I plan to use these as gift bags for very special loved ones but you could of course use them as a Christmas shopping bag.

This next project is a set of 4 altered art Christmas tags. They are quite large and could be used to adorn your Christmas gifts or they make pretty tree ornaments.

I popped one of my cinnamon ornaments on the Ginger Wishes tag.
Rudolph is jingling all the way with his rusty bells.
Santa still needs his rusty bell on his hat but you get the gist....
Here's Rudolph again and this time he has dangle legs - how cute!!
The third project is a fiddly one but so worth it. I had to do something with the dozens of paper mache match boxes that were multiplying in my storage cupboard so came up with this unusual Advent Calender. This little cabinet has 24 little drawers that pull out to reveal a Christmas treat. Each side features 2 painted panels and 6 drawers.
The base even has dainty little feet. Children love anything that opens and shuts and my girls have already pulled out all the drawers and had a play. Aimee has lamented over the size of the drawers as she is used to a very large wall hanging advent calender that has room to hold big surprises....clearly I wasn't thinking the day I decided to make that one!!

I plan on displaying this little Advent Calender on our coffee table and filling the drawers with special notes for my girls. Perhaps reminders of what we should be grateful for this Christmas season, thank you and praise notes and just plain love notes. Christmas spirit isn't all about gifts.
Anyway, that's enough yapping from me - still too much to do.
Hugs,
Kerryanne
