Christmas scents are in the air.....

Another week has flashed by quicker than it should have and it seems that every post I write begins with a similar observation. Perhaps I'm just too busy and the days blur together or am I too ambitious with my weekly 'To Do' list? Whatever it is, every other days seems to be Friday which puts me in a bit of a panic. Not that I don't like weekends of course - wouldn't it be nice IF every other day WAS Friday and then I would be having weekends several times a week. LOL

Anyway, work has been progressing slowly but steadily on the Christmas range and I have faithfully stayed away from any chores remotely like housekeeping this week - naturally, this was in order to protect my health...hee hee.

Today the distinct spicy, yet sweet aroma of Christmas scents are wafting through my house....what could it be???

Ok...this photo doesn't really help. In fact it looks quite putrid but trust me - it smells divine.

Does this one help? Yep, it was a batch of cinnamon decorations. You know the ones you make with apple sauce and cinnamon? Mmmmmmmmm......smells so good. They are drying over one of the ducted heating ducts which has of course sent the unmistakable scent of cinnamon right through the house. I needed a couple of these cinnamon ornaments for one of my projects so decided to make a whole batch. They are great for putting in your Christmas pot pourri or on gifts and tags etc.
Is if any wonder that my children have always been completely confused when it comes to Christmas? I generally start designing my Christmas Collection in May with it fully in production by June. My 'Silly Season' commences in July when I start selling Christmas and the weeks get busier the closer I get to Christmas.
When the girls were younger they would get all excited at the first sign of Christmas which of course was mid year and I would spend weeks trying to convince them that no-one else was celebrating Christmas yet and NO we would not begin writing our Christmas Wish List for Santa. Invariably they would make a start on that List and I would stick it up on the fridge fully expecting it to change a million times in the six months to Christmas. You would think my girls would be all Christmased out by the time December came but no, they still share my crazy addiction to this magical season of the year.

With cold and blustery weather forecasted for the weekend I plan on hiding in my warm and cosy studio assembling my projects in hope of writing up all the instructions and taking photos this week.

Wherever you are and whatever you do this weekend, stay warm and take care.
Hugs,
Kerryanne
