What started out as a 'Ho Hum' kind of day has panned out to be a beautiful afternoon. How could it not be with an abundance of warm winter sun dancing through my garden.

I'm not usually one to feel 'Ho Hum' about life. I'm definitely one of those perennially optimistic, glass half full kind of girls but life has had a few speed humps lately.
To cut a long story short........ for the past 7 months I have been suffering with a condition known as Osteitis Pubis; this is an ailment most commonly associated with footballers and elite athletes - although mine is not caused by injury.
Okay.... those of you who know me well are probably rolling on the floor in rapturous laughter right now. My name and the word athlete would rarely ever be used in the same sentence. In fact, I think I may be allergic to exercise!!! Well not all exercise - I enjoy walking - hi to my walking buddy Anne.

I haven't been walking for months as I have been on what my specialist calls 'Aggressive Rest' (what a contradictory term) for the past 7 weeks. This means minimal walking and no stairs.
Hhhhhmmmmmm ..........does anyone see a problem here?
What busy mother of 2 school age children running a full time business can stop walking? Adding to this dilemma is the fact that we live in a multi storey house perched on the side of a hill so steep we almost need to employ Himalayan guides to navigate the path to the clothes line.....yep we have plenty of steps and stairs.

I think you can visualize how difficult and frustrating the past 7 weeks have been. I am so grateful to my parents who have been here 3 & 4 days a week cleaning, cooking and gardening. What would I do without them?
Following a week of tests and MRI's last week my specialist has decided to refer me on to an orthopaedic surgeon for surgery. I'm tipping this guy is pretty popular because I have to wait over 6 months for an appointment. Soooooo, the bad news for me - I am to remain on 'Aggressive Rest' until I see the surgeon....uuuggghhhh!!!

I feel like a little bird that has had it's wings clipped. Guess I won't be doing much or going too far over the next 6 months. Always one to look for a positive, I found one while basking in the sun this afternoon, enjoying a cup of green tea with my faithful buddy Gypsy - at least I can still sit in my studio and paint and play; everything in there is at my fingertips.

Anyhoo, 'Ho Hum' days might be inevitable for a short while but sunny winter afternoons are bound to make the endorphins kick in and if that doesn't work there is always chocolate.
Right now though I need to go back to the studio to wrap up my swap parcel for Shann's Parasol & Paper swap. It will be heading off to Kelli of Vintage Vavoom in the US in tomorrows mail.
Hugs,
Kerryanne
